THE NIKE SOLARSOFT MOCCASIN HAWAIIAN PACK

Nike draws Inspiration from Hawaii's colorful native flora and laidback culture for a trio of custom prints (two for men and one for women) to freshen up the Nike Solarsoft Moccasin.

The vibrant patterns are illustrated takes on traditional island prints referencing flora growing everywhere from Hawaii’s rainforests to its lava fields to the peaks of its famous volcanoes. They boast a vintage vibe with a modern approach to color and material.

The breathable, lightweight sneaker has an engineered mesh upper, crafted using seamless Nike Hyperfuse technology. The trademark innovation employs heat and pressure to fuse three layers into one ventilated yet durable material.

An injected Nike Dual-Density foam midsole—inspired by the Nike Aqua Sock 2—adds to the shoe’s sock-free appeal with ample underfoot cushioning enhanced by an encapsulated air-sole heel unit and a non-marking rubber outsole. The stretch tongue ensures easy slip-on, slip-off entry, ideal for summer’s casual lifestyle.

The Nike Solarsoft Moccasin will be available at select Nike retailers beginning July 20.

PHILIPPINES, 12 JULY 2013 – Nike Philippines announced today that it will host two-time champion LeBron James for the first time in the Philippines, on July 23, 2013, in the capital city Manila. His one-day visit is designed to inspire young Filipino athletes to strive for greatness and keep working hard as he did to win two consecutive championship titles.

Inspiring Athletes Everywhere to Pursue Greatness in their Game
Breaking onto the scene during his formative years in high school, LeBron grew up with a drive for greatness like no other.  His relentless desire paired with numerous hours in the gym spent practicing and honing his skills, paved the way to basketball superstardom.

In 2003, LeBron was drafted in the professional league and has since lived up to the hype with numerous accolades under his belt, including two championship rings, four MVP Awards, two Finals MVP Awards, and two All-Star MVP Awards. On a global scale, he was the centerpiece of two Gold Medal runs in 2008 and 2012.

LeBron seizes each opportunity to improve every aspect of his game, admitting that he is far from a finished product.  He preaches that greatness is a process that requires continual introspection and fine-tuning.

Taking inspiration from LeBron’s unwavering passion for the game, his tour in Manila will inspire the Filipino youth and aspiring basketball athletes to embark on their own pursuit of greatness.

An Opportunity for Manila Fans to “Leave a Message”
Shortly after LeBron clinched his 2nd championship last month, Nike celebrated the athlete’s success with its “Leave a Message” campaign on digital and social media channels which featured basketball luminaries and influential figures for James, including, Spike Lee, Warren Buffet, Dr. Dre, Coach K, Phil Knight, Drake, Bill Russell and kids from The LeBron James Family Foundation leaving congratulatory messages for LeBron on his answering machine.

In the same way, Filipino fans will have a special opportunity to leave personal messages for LeBron through social media, radio and retail activation starting July 12, 2013. By visiting the Nike Basketball Facebook and Twitter pages, fans can “leave a message” for the two-time champion along with a photo of themself that express a personal message to LeBron. The caption of the photo should tag Nike Basketball Philippines (https://www.facebook.com/nikebasketball.phils) on Facebook or tag @NikePH on Twitter, both including the hashtag #WITNESSHISTORY

Filipino fans can witness history and see LeBron live on July 23, 2013. Tickets will be distributed at Nike Park in Bonifacio Global City at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Tickets are free of charge and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only two tickets will be given per person.

JAY-Z RELEASES "MAGNA CARTA... HOLY GRAIL"

Jay-Z's latest album "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" is new and familiar all at the same time. The beat on most tracks are refreshingly new, influenced heavily by Timbaland who produced almost 60% of the album. But at the same time, the album is still very much Jay-Z with his trademark realness to his lyrics.

The theme of MCHG is all about Jay-Z's opulence, his life as a father and family man, and how he's living his life at the advanced age (in hip-hop standards) of 43. No "99 Problems" here, no "Can I Live", no "Song Cry" - no emotional lyrics that give hint to Jay-Z's struggles. This is just Jay enjoying life with Blue and Mrs. Carter. Like the man said: If you want old joints, buy old albums.

Hov aims to "rewrite the rules" with this album and he did just that way before the album's release date. Partnering with Samsung, the mobile phone giant bought 1 Million copies of MCHG for all it's consumers and phone owners, making Jay-Z a platinum man way before his album drop.

Lyrically it may not be his best, but it is one of his better works as of late. It may not be relatable (void of any struggle, come-up stories), but at least it is still raw and true. There is not one song in the album that will not make your head bump to the beat. Overall, it is an album worthy of keeping in your car or in your iPod.
